ONE-DAY FAMILY RETREAT, 14 June 2025

For families with children/young people up to 17 years old who want to practise Buddhism together.

The day will start with a morning puja in the shrine room of the retreat centre, followed by lunch in the marquee. In the afternoon, there will be meditation sessions for children and adults, arts and crafts activities, and games. The day will end with a closing ceremony in the temple.

SUMMER CAMP, 15-18 August 2025

For families with children/young people aged 17 or younger who want to practise Buddhism together. The camp will start on Friday 15 August, in the afternoon, and end on Monday 18 August, in the afternoon. It will consist of pujas, meditation sessions, arts and crafts activities, games, and working meditation like washing up and cleaning bathrooms and toilets (a.k.a. chores).

There is no fee for attending the event. A donation to cover the cost of the food, energy, and water would be appreciated. We will share a suggested donation amount nearer to the time. There is no pressure to give a donation.

We plan to have a Summer Camp in the proper sense and encourage all participants to sleep in tents at the monastery grounds, avoiding the use of retreat centre accommodation. If you cannot camp/sleep in a tent but want to attend the Summer Camp, please contact us.

We’re looking for volunteers to join the kitchen/support team. Please get in touch if you can help.

FIRST YOU UNDERSTAND THE DHAMMA WITH YOUR THOUGHTS. IF YOU BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND IT, YOU WILL PRACTICE IT. AND IF YOU PRACTICE IT, YOU WILL BEGIN TO SEE IT, YOU ARE THE DHAMMA AND YOU HAVE THE JOY OF THE BUDDHA.
