We welcomed many new families at Rainbows over the Bank Holiday weekend, spending a joyful few days together, making things, eating delicious food, enjoying the spaciousness of Amaravati, living as one big commmunity, exploring the life of the Buddha. Here's some photographs giving a small flavour of the event.
There was lots of singing too ... and little and big people :)
If you were there and have any photos you can share on the website, send them to familyrainbows@amaravati.org!

The Timetable

Making the "Bodhi Tree"
The Buddha was born and died under Sala trees, he had his first taste of meditation as a child sat under the Rose-Apple tree and came to his full understanding under the Bodhi Tree ... so we made a tree.

Getting things ready

The Bodhi Tree is almost complete
It took a week to make. Harinder, Jai, Arun, Anya, Jagdeep, Ven Appamado, Joao and Sister Tisara all helped out.

All set for the opening evening
